When the Etobicoke Temple corps was established in 1969, the Songster Brigade took their place on the platform with 60 members, bringing with them the history of the Dovercourt Citadel and Rexdale corps. This large group was under the leadership of Songster Leader Wallace Bunton and over the next few years was very active within the community and also had the privilege of visiting various centres throughout the province of Ontario.

Over the years the numbers have varied and the leadership has changed, but the brigade has always maintained a high standard of music to the Lord. The group has taken part in the Festival of Gospel Song each year, both at Massey Hall and latterly at the Roy Thompson Hall. The Songsters were one of the solo brigades when under the leadership of Norm Gardner.

At the present time, the brigade is under the leadership of Gordon Hind and continues to contribute to our worship services on Sundays and on occasion at various other Corps, seniors residences, hospitals and nursing homes.
