The Etobicoke Temple Band, rising from the merger of
the Salvation Army's Dovercourt and Rexdale corps in 1969,
traces its roots to the Dovercourt Citadel Band formed in 1904. In the long-standing traditions of Salvation
Army banding, the men and women comprising this all-brass
amateur ensemble represent a broad range of professions
who combine their love of music with their responsibility
to communicate their Christian faith. The band has traveled
extensively in Canada and The United States, and
participates in the worship services at Etobicoke Temple
each Sunday.
The band also takes its musical message through visits
to nursing homes, hospitals and seniors' residences and churches
in the Greater Toronto area.
